Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor for WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with care, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. O'Dell in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
